Someone on AGPT requested photos of Molly in modern clothes. I did a quickie photoshoot before work, and this is the result. I was going kind of fast, so these aren’t the greatest, lol.
Samantha didn’t have any spring outfits, so I purchased this reproduction of her Birthday Dress on eBay. It’s not as pretty as the original, but it was decent for the price, which was only a little over $13, whereas the original, if you want the whole outfit, is around $80. D=
I’ve been watching Little House on the Prairie a LOT lately, my goal is to watch it from start to finish. I’m on Season 3 now… I’ve only ever seen one episode of it a long time ago (the first episode, actually) and was intrigued. But, we didn’t have cable, so I never got around to it.
But, now I’m watching it and I love it. So much so, that I want to make a Melissa Gilbert as Laura Ingalls American Girl custom. I decided to go with #55 as the base, because she’s got the freckles and hazel eyes already; all I’d need to do is re-wig her, and sew her some dresses, which should be fun. I actually happen to have Kirsten’s Dress Patterns that my mom found at a thrift store for $3, so those will be helpful (although I’m pretty sure all the patterns are available on AG Playthings for free to download and print, anyway.)
It’ll be a while before I get started on her (if I ever do), but it’s definitely a thought.
Poor Samantha! I don’t have a spring/summer outfit for her…. so she is stuck in this stupid baby outfit (jk it’s a cute outfit) for present.
My friend and I visited the Oatlands Plantation in Leesburg, VA this past Saturday, where Valerie Tripp did a book signing and talk. She graciously took a photo with my Molly doll (and my friend got a picture of her, her Samantha doll, and Valerie) and I took a pic of Molly and Sam on a bench outside the mansion. It was a lot of fun!

My coworker and I are going to a Valerie Tripp (author of several historical AG series) book signing… normally, I wouldn’t be going because she comes into the store every so often to do signings anyway, and those are free… this one is $20. But it’s at a plantation and it’s gonna be all special and stuff so I am pretty excited.
The thing is, I can’t decide which doll(s) to bring. On one hand, I love my Samantha. She’s a Pleasant so she’s special. On the other hand, Molly is my FAVORITE. On the OTHER other hand, I could bring Felicity and Elizabeth in their gorgeous Tea Lesson Gowns, and wouldn’t that be precious??
Too many choices!!!
